Herman Moll's 1728 map of Connacht is part of his Atlas of Ireland, produced using inks and colour washes.

Moll's vibrant maps were the first maps to accurately illustrate Ireland's road network.

Lineage, inheritance, or simply knowing who was who—pedigrees were once essential. Our #ArchiveOfTheWeek, this 1830 volume tracing the Gell family of Hopton Hall (and their connections) is packed with beautifully illustrated coats of arms. A striking window into family history.

We love this small-scale plan of the navigable canal connecting Chesterfield to the River Trent near Stockwith, surveyed in 1770 by J Lodge, showing journey distances and landmarks along the route. What an amazing achievement it was!

A 1960 menu from CNCo’s ship Changsha reveals a world of caviar & lobster. But it’s more than a record of opulent dining. Covered in passengers’ signatures, it captures a golden age when ocean voyages forged friendships & sparked autograph‑collecting. #EYAConnections

Anyone heard of The Solway Viaduct? 🌉

Did you know that during WW1 this helped to supply H.M. Factory Gretna?🤔

The Solway Viaduct was a railway line and bridge that once connected England and Scotland.
