#Dollarization
- The U.S. dollar is crashing.
- We are seeing structural de-dollarization by the world's central banks.
- Geopolitical tensions are globally running at arguably their highest level in decades.

These dynamics feel structural, not cyclical.

Ever since 2008 our 401K plan felt like a trap, but it was easy and everybody said it was good so we kept doing it. Now it feels like the trap is being sprung. I'm diversifying but not pulling out of the account (yet). What are you doing to try to protect your retirement from de-dollarization?

The USD’s role in global central bank reserves keeps shrinking, while gold’s share is surging, per Bloomberg citing IMF data. De-dollarization is no longer a theory — it’s showing up in reserve allocations.

Yeah, I also need someone to explain to me the point of the First Amendment.

I'm almost definitely huffing copium here - but my de-dollarization fantasy is that Carney and other economics experts from around the world are working behind the scenes to replace the USD ASAP.

De-dollarization is accelerating 🌍

The USD share in global institutional reserves — including central banks — has fallen to its lowest level this century. At the same time, gold’s share is surging. The shift in reserve strategy is hard to ignore.

De-dollarization is what 🇺🇸 has to worry about. That is decided by governments (not so much by businesses).

Trump has gone out of his way to insult & threaten so many governments, I could see some nations pricing things outside the 🇺🇸 dollar. It’s just a matter of time.

Really smart, historically-grounded stuff (especially on the multiple dimensions, timeframes, & processes of de-dollarization), amidst lots of hyperbole & too-soon prognostications of surefire structural transformation of the international monetary system:

U.S. Dollar's global reserve share falls below 60% as gold rallies 📈. Central banks favor tangible assets over sovereign debt, driving de-dollarization. Gold saw over 64% price increase in 2025, highest since 1979. 95% of central banks plan more gold purchases. (IMF, World Gold Council)

It's already happening, our only hope is to navigate de-dollarization in a smart way, and I don't have any hope for that with the league of extraordinarily stupid assholes in charge of everything.

What if Trump’s biggest threat to the dollar… is his *love* for Bitcoin?

For 50+ years, the dollar survived wars, deficits, BRICS & de-dollarization talk.

But if “America First” turns BTC into a state-backed asset, he’s not defending the dollar—

He’s building the exit ramp.
