Agree 100%. What is 'irreplaceable' about Twitter (to the extent *anything is* irreplaceable about it) is the local essential (emergency and non-) sites (e.g., for me, DCHealth, various officials etc.).
FWIW I think reconstructing the Bird joint’s usefulness during a disaster should be a top three priority. If we get invites let’s get the disaster response, emergency humans over here first.
There will be an opportunity for Bluesky to act as trustworthy civic infrastructure in the next disaster, IF our posts can be public on the Web.

If I were on the engagement team, I’d consider inviting FEMA, the Red Cross, & state emergency + public health accounts to join next week & help verify.
