I am excited to hear this! Currently ripping through The Last Chronicle of Barset – while I forever love the Pallisers and MMG, and while I know The Way We Live Now is his greatest novel, I think Small House at Allington is his most perfect so far

Rereading The Last Chronicle of Barset. I had forgotten large parts of it, including entire subplots, but I recall thinking that Lily Dale is pretty exasperating, and that impression holds up.
