Real-time estimates of #BVOC emissions with high resolution (10-30m) using #GEE-MEGAN model, which combines satellite data on land cover and vegetation. A great tool for studying the impacts of BVOCs in a rapidly urbanizing, warming world.

The findings demonstrate that the impact of net-zero aligned afforestation on BVOC emissions can be minimised through careful selection of tree species, which could help to avoid unintended consequences of afforestation on air quality.

Phylogenetic patterns exist in BVOC emissions. Oaks, poplars, ceasalps, palms, bamboos ... mostly emit isoprene. Terpenes are emitted by citrus, eucalyptus, & conifers, especially Pinus sp. But, as I've found, taxonomy may be less important than successional status (early=isoprene, late=terpenes)
