Mostly careless. Lived in one place in Boston in my 20s (1988) with four other roommates. A huge apartment... LR/DR/Kitchen on 2nd floor of a house and FIVE BRs on the 3rd floor. ONE bathroom. The house also had a small apartment on the ground floor.

Side note: I just happened to come across these drawings during my research at the National Archives, since this building was studied by the BRS because of the combined soil and waste system. Until the 1930s, WC drains (soil) were required to have a separate drainage system in the UK.
