Yeah I call it "fandom inertia". Tenshiku being dethroned is probably because of AoCF and WaHH giving us more Tenshi and Shion interactions vs Iku being sadly relegated mostly to non speaking cameos.

A little over 600 words on the AoCF chapter outline so far. A lot of it is making sure I have the order of canon events right before adapting it to PHT.

You see it most clearly in AoCF, even if Miko brushes Futo's concerns aside...she still strikes me as a competent person that is capable of reading people.

i genuinely didn't know 19 was a vs game. i gotta give that a try sometime. i don't have much experience in them either tbh. soku was my game of choice when i wanted to play some kind of touhou pvp thing. aocf was fun for a bit.

I really tried getting into AoCF, but it just feels like a disparate pile of mechanics that look nice but don't flow together (there's like 5 separate special move gauges to keep track of)
(It's more focused than HM's "every character has a completely unique core mechanic" but very barely)

that aside, I do get what you're saying, but also the shooter formula is something straightforward enough that just adding a different bit of spice each time is just fine IMO. to each their own
