I know a lot of attendees have a lot of (valid) things to say about Pittsburgh but I just wanna say I loved being able to share the city and a major part of my life with all my speedrun friends and it was amazing to watch my hometown turned into a place for GDQ to happen. I will treasure AGDQ24-26

On to the other thoughts: I was overjoyed when they first announced that AGDQ24 was going to be in PGH. I had (and still have) friends in the area and I finally felt like after over ten years of watching online, it was finally time to attend in-person.

I didn’t get a run in to AGDQ24, but I did get on the radar of parts of the committee and wound up doing Hotfix shortly after. I had such a great time at AGDQ24 that I told myself I had to give back. For ‘25 I was submitting again and applying to volunteer.

ive ran in every mainline GDQ event since AGDQ24 until now. its a lot complicated feelings for sure. ive been fortunate enough to have run not once, but five times in the past four events, but not making it in this time was rough. ill get over it soon, but it sucks. window 2 was competitive af too

As someone from a country of perpetual winter rain I was elated at the AGDQ24 snowstorm lmao. Would happily have that again.

My first time attending was AGDQ24 this past January & I totally understood JSR may not have wanted to have him in front of a crowd that big at the time.

It got used in a GDQ run during AGDQ24 IIRC. Cause you can use th wheel to trigger stuff like a mouse scroll wheel but on controller.

Since I have time let me share a little story.
Back during AGDQ24, I caught the finale on stream. It was then when somehow I wished I was at the event. But something in me woke up and said: you should be and you can.
A few months later I had everything ready to go to SGDQ25.
No regrets!

I also can't believe I went from my first in person event being AGDQ24 to being on stage at AGDQ25. I'd done plenty of remote events, usually running randomizers, but I never would have predicted it'd go like this.
