3m

Zohran Mamdani won New York City's mayoral election, driven by young and progressive voters, and pledged to curb soaring rents and expand housing, though he will face implementation limits.

Good article from Edsall on Mamdani and impressed with how he says his thinking was changed by the evidence. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/11/o...

Will @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social be able to turn his ambitious agenda into public policy?

I spoke with Dean Fuleihan, Mamdani's newly-named First Deputy Mayor and a seasoned veteran of New York politics, on what to expect when he takes office in January. youtu.be/xgLTZ0Da-gw?...

"Como progresista, recelo de Mamdani. Dudo si el recién elegido alcalde de Nueva York es el mejor antídoto contra el trumpismo o su mayor energizante." Escribo sobre las (muchas) ventajas y (algunas) desventajas del modelo Mamdani: elpais.com/opinion/2025...
Mamdani y la fórmula anti-Trump
El alcalde electo de Nueva York es el póster perfecto de todo lo que excita a la derecha radical: cosmopolita, universitario, ‘woke’ e inmigrante musulmán

The Mamdani movement added two crucial ingredients: anger and moral purpose — and in so doing actually expanded the electorate itself.

Sure, be mad I voted for Mamdani — I'm still just as Jewish (and Israeli) as you are forward.com/opinion/7826...

An Israeli Jew who lives in New York City openly supported Zohran Mamdani. The backlash taught a painful lesson about our divided politics.

I wrote about what I see as the real lesson of Mamdani's victory: not that Democrats needs to move left (or right, for that matter), but that they should try to build real-world relationships with normal voters. publiccomment.blog/p/mamdani-th...

The thing about Mamdani is that he’s a talented politician but not otherworldly or one in a billion, he’s just a competent guy with popular ideas who ran against an entitled piece of shit and to me it’s a lot more optimistic to imagine 1000 campaigns like his than to view him as a unique phenomenon

Seattle's Mamdani is winning by an absurdly small margin over our incumbent mayor, who once pulled a gun on a pregnant woman in a parking lot.

Our congratulations to Dean Fuleihan, a senior fellow at the CUNY Institute of State and Local Governance, who was appointed by Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani to serve as First Deputy Mayor. His appointment reflects the University's mission to advance public service.
