They said I didn’t understand because I don’t have an ED and I was like…dude I’m a recovering alcoholic. I’m bombarded with alcohol imagery all the damn time. If I didn’t learn to tolerate those or ANTICIPATE that I might see them, I would’ve caved after a week.

This part in the reddit post, it always ticks me the hell off when companies do this, saying that the issue was that we were "Confused", there was no bloody confusion, we were angry at specifically what they said, and we were angry because we UNDERSTOOD what they said

on first glance, Max and Chloe are way simpler than they actually are. you think Chloe is just this angry punk and Max is the sweet quiet girl, but in actuality, Max has some angry punk in her and Chloe has some sweet quiet girl inside, they're like inside each other

I thought it was well known that American and European cities were in different leagues regarding criminality. "When people say Paris/London/Barcelona are dangerous" they're comparing it to a random village in Brittany. To a random European, the US is terrifyingly unsafe

I legit fear for the overall game literacy of new junior designers in the coming years for various reasons and a big part of that is just, a lack of idiosyncratic games in many diets that aren't, like, tied to insidious monetization loops.

Let people play games that are weird in honest ways, dude.

"Go back and play Morrowind and tell me that’s the game you want to play again," said Bruce Nesmith, who worked for Bethesda for over 17 years, adding that playing The Elder Scrolls 3 "would not stand the test of time." https://bit.ly/4q4GoKh

On that note, I think the Netflix approach of "write things in a way where things get spelled out all the time" because people look at their phones while watching is a self fulfilling prophecy, because you just end up writing so many redundant things, that people get bored

I personally think the phenomenon you are describing is the single most culpable directive that has led us to where we are. The truth is knowable. When those who know it refuse to say it, space opens up for those who wish to distort it. A national industry wide scandal.

A reminder to the news media: “conflicting accounts” is what you say BEFORE the incontrovertible video evidence appears. After that, your job is to ask why one side is lying, not to repeat the lie and pretend no one knows the truth.

People need to stop assigning binary moral weight to what characters are doing on-screen and absorb the vibes. We have all been Carol at some point.

It’s really funny as a miserable lesbian to see people look at a miserable lesbian and go “seems problematic…” No bitch! Miserable lesbians are the backbone of society! Nothing works without us! Give us grenades and heroin!
Pluribus reddit discourse is so funny. “Are we supposed to root for Carol” you are supposed to watch how her character interacts with the world “she’s very unlikable” wow that’s crazy can they do that

Funny animal videos no longer being trustworthy just fucking sucks all around. I love the wonder of animal behavior and what it says about the experience of being alive. It's because it happened in reality that it's so fun. It's not fun if it was just made up. There's no wonder there.

Just so I'm clear on this, computer memory has tripled in price because a bunch of it that hasn't been produced yet has been ordered to populate GPUs that aren't installed in data centers that aren't built yet in order to service a demand that doesn't exist to make profits that don't happen.
