A reminder that if the minimum wage had kept pace with worker productivity gains since the 1960s, it would now be nearly $26 an hour.

Since when do segments get cancelled due to “pushback”on factual content? 4 yrs after 140 newsrooms signed a collective letter against the harassment of their most vulnerable journalists that was ironically propelled by Rachel,me & Erica Ifill. What chilling message is being sent to journalists?
I’m devastated, but I’m also angry. I’m angry because this is an attack on press freedom.

If opportunities can be stripped from journalists simply because enough people repeat the same bad-faith narrative, how can anyone withstand the career impact of doing work that matters?

in no world is ctv impartial for cancelling @rachelgilmore.bsky.social’s fact-checking segment. capitulating to right-wing propaganda is the *most* partial reaction.

CTV dropping @rachelgilmore.bsky.social is infuriating

Where is CTV’s journalistic integrity? CTV was spineless and gave in the far right fascist mobilization against Rachel. CTV *chose* to side with these fascists.

Attacks on journalism will continue because msm allows the far right to win.

“…I am furious that CTV caved.

Rachel became a symbol of the threats journalists face. Now, she is a symbol of what it means when institutions fail to defend them”
We need to talk about @rachelgilmore.bsky.social
Our democracy is not going to make it without strong journalists. Let me begin by stating the obvious: these thoughts are mine alone. They do not speak for my employers. They are personal and, at this moment, angry. #cdnmedia
