Oh wait I was confusing David’s Sling with EarthWeb (1999). Now that I remember more, they are *both* increasingly relevant to the second half of the 2020’s in different ways. I should re-read both, but EarthWeb more, because PolyMarket.

I just remembered about “David’s Sling” by Marc Stiegler. It was written in 1988. When I read it, probably a decade later, the political setting was embarrassingly obsolete and the tech was ridiculously speculative. But now I’ll bet they are both juuust right.

I sincerely hope this year's crop of speakers -- many of whom have played major roles in Zcash's creation and evolution -- keep up the tradition. Whatever thesis you are presenting this year, Zcash is a salient data point.
