A few more modifications and a slightly better presentation for this furry little guy made in #b3d. #Blender3D has so many little nooks & crannies you can get lost in.

Taking a temporary break from working on my recent rabbit character (he needs clothing) to continue experimenting with different #b3d hair techniques on another character since there's more hair stuff in #blender3d I want to learn.

You think you're getting the hang of something, but then a few days later you realize that was rubbish. But now...now you're getting the hang of it. Hair in #b3d. Still frustrating, but slightly more fun. Progress.

My first experience working with fur in #blender3d has been equal parts fun & frustrating. Nothing here is finished (inc the sculpt), but after literal days of messing around, I'm finally making headway & figuring out the #b3d quirks & solutions to them.

To get into #blender3d new sculpting tools, I've been intermittently modeling a jacked rabbit. Still needs tweaking, but fur and clothing (fighter or blacksmith, maybe) will likely hide a lot. I may just take a shortcut in that direction. Plus, I'm looking forward to playing with #b3d fur & cloth!

In anticipation of testing out #Blender3d updated sculpting tools, I've been tweaking my base mesh to get different character forms. Early stages, but I think making digitigrades look balanced might be tricky.

Looking forward to sculpting in #b3d.

Here's another ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ #blender3d addon I recently acquired that's immediately become an essential part of my #b3d experience. Less than $2 on BM & GR and well worth it.

Render Preset Manager allows you to save your Render & Output settings as presets. Saves time!

Reporting #blender3d bugs is easy when you know where to look.

You can help make #b3d better for everyone by reporting any issues you have and not waiting for others to do it for you.

A few more test renders from my #blender3d procedural planet experiments.

Getting a better grasp on things & learning lots! Especially how easy it is to break the illusion of proper scale when you design things procedurally at a planetary scale.

Lots of #b3d fun though!

A few more flawed, but interesting test renders from my recent exploration into procedural planets made in #blender3d

Still working on everything except the atmosphere, which I'm pretty content with. Can you believe this is just a 2m sphere?

Some more experimenting in the #blender3d procedural planet rabbit hole.

Running into plenty of issues, but pleased with progress. I love this kind of stuff because it prompts so much learning in order to overcome issues in #b3d

Recently jumped down a procedural planet making rabbit hole in #blender3d (applying a combination of different techniques I've seen by others) resulting in this first pass.

Still lots of fun technical & artistic issues to overcome here, but I figured I'd start sharing my progress.

💡Be mindful of occasional inconsistencies with regard to UI/input precision in #Blender3d

For example, cell fracture extension reads "0.00" for the margin, but it isn't actually "zero", it's "0.001" & not visible until you click it.

For those who work at real world scale it matters.

💡 If you're frequently opening #Blender3D files without loading the UI (often other people's files), did you know that "Load UI" is a default setting you can turn off in #b3d preferences? #blendertip

💡Did you know that you can easily add objects, modifiers, geometry nodes, and shader nodes in #blender3d by typing the first letter of each word in the search field to quickly bring up matching items. #blendertip #b3d

💡If you have a busy #blender3d scene & can’t easily find your selected object in the outliner, simply hover your mouse in the outliner and hit the “~” (tilde) key and select “show active” and #b3d will automatically be found and highlighted. #blendertip

💡 Did you know that you don't have to tediously deactivate addons to test #Blender3D with factory settings? There are 2 simple ways on #b3d Windows (& probably similar on other OS). #blendertip

Many people know that SHIFT+ALT+Z in #blender3d will toggle overlays, but...

💡Did you know there is an overlays icon in #b3d that is only visible in mesh edit mode and it provides useful overlays like edge length and face area? #blendertip

Changing default units in #blender3d isn’t necessarily an ideal solution for anyone, but it may have the effect of making some #b3d physics-related addons that don’t allow users to change default collision values to actually work as expected with real-world scale. #blendertip

Working in real-world scale in #blender3d matters and so do #b3d's defaults. Here are just a few places where it's important to pay attention to scale. #blendertip

Some people say #Blender3D physics is broken. But my tests so far have shown that common physics issues are likely related to not changing #b3d's default collision settings to appropriate values. #blendertip

Yes, even cloth + rigid body physics work in #blender3d at real-world scale when you adjust #b3d's default settings accordingly. #blendertip

Working at real-world scale with #blender3d physics means rigid bodies will sometimes "explode" away from each other or not be able to get very close.

Often, the simple solution is to change #b3d's default collision margin from .04m to .001m. #blendertip
