Berberian Sound Studio and Ghost Dog should both be pretty good as long as you've got good headphones. Neither has a lot of imagery likely to upset anybody.

It was a really fun day!

These days, when I'm fitter, the more naturally my HR lands around zone 2, and my resting rate hovers around 55-60bpm.

VO2 max is the metric most cyclists use (mine ain't great), but it's hard to measure on your own. Lots of stuff will estimate it, but with *huge* error margins.

It's deceptive though. It's just one metric, and all it really means is I kept my heart rate high for a long time.

Mostly because when I started I was *REALLY* out of shape. As I've gotten fitter and stronger, it's gone back up because its harder to get my heart going that fast.

It depends on the kind of activity. It takes regular exercise that pushes your HR to near max for a long time, but doing that it's pretty normal to have a very low resting rate.

That said, from cycling I've gotten my resting rate down to the high 30's and it did not mean I was a super athlete.

I had read all his books and lived in the Midwest so I did not know.

But then I saw this picture.

And the straight washing atrocity Awakenings.

It’s not just you. His public persona was like chewing glass for me. The only movie I liked him in was the one where he was a creepy serial killer. That fit.

Jibaro is easily the best of all of them.

I could not possibly agree more with your description.

I saw Trouble Every Day in a small theater in San Diego. There were maybe 6 other people in the theater.

Have you ever heard people laugh like the guy in the Milgrim experiment who thought he'd just killed somebody?

There's a scene late in the movie that did that to at least one guy at that show.

Behold my petard, and the subsequent launching upon it!

It's hilarious to me how often the cosmology/religion in the movie is presented as 'ridiculous' or 'silly' when it's all extremely grounded in classical sources.

EVEN THE PART WHERE JESUS WAS AN ALIEN.
