An aerial view of Ecruteak Town at daytime, from Pokemon Gold and Silver, reimagined. The city is now located on a giant bulwark structure, standing tall above the dense forest around to the south, and a bamboo grove to the north. Over the horizon, many mountains and a clear northern sky can be seen; Jumpluff, hoppip and skiploom are carried by the wind, while the legendary Ho-Oh can be seen flying in the distance. All the houses and structures share a distinctive, traditional japanese wooden architecture with grey rooftiles. A huge torii gate marks the access of the city to the south, while to the west, connecting to Route 38, is a small gatehouse. To the East a new, tall Clock Tower connects the top of the bulwark to the forest below, leading to Route 42 and Mount Mortar. The north section of the city features the iconic Burned Tower, encased in a bamboo glade, just above a staircase and an old, mossy wooden torii. Here, in the glade, trainer Gold is facing the three legendary beasts: Suicune, Raikou and Entei. To the east, a huge shrine, with a zen backyard, connects the city to the Bell Path. This verdant route, in the heart of the bamboo grove, features a wooden arched bridge, crossing a little river forms a giant pond. At the end of the path stands the Bell Tower, with its many stories. Eusine can be found here, as the entrance is blocked by a monk. Back to the city centre, many traditional houses and trainers like the kimono girls with their evolved eevees can be found, as well as little gardens with pine trees. To the South-west a shrine by an old graveyard immersed in wisteria flowers marks the City Gym: Morty, the gym leader, can be found there with his ace, Gengar. The Eastern half of the city features the Theatre, with banners featuring Jolteon, Flareon, Vaporeon, Umbreon and Espeon. A pokemon center can be found here, with a traditional wooden sign and a huge pokeball on the roof, then the pokemon market, decorated with strings of hanging lanterns. The northern sky is full of stars and a waning crescent moon In the far north, the lights of a mysterious city bedazzle the valley. Lugia can be seen flying to the West. The city centre is lively and brightly decorated and illuminated by lanterns and strings of lights. A huge torii gate marks the access of the city to the south, while to the west, connecting to Route 38, is a small gatehouse. To the East the Clock Tower stands tall, with bright lights dotting the forest below and leading to Route 42. To the North-west, the iconic Burned Tower is encased in the dark bamboo glade, where many lights and will-o-the-wisps create a circle of warm, eerire light around the three legendary beasts guarding the monument. Zubat, Golbat and Crobat can be seen flying around. To the east, atop the central shrine zen garden backyard, a shiny Ninetales observes silently the city. Trainer Kris is exploring the verdant Bell Path, just beyond the wooden arched bridge. Below the bridge, a river flows into a waterfall, leading to the great pond at the temple's base. Here many poliwags are playing in the water, while Politoed sings on the top of a rock. At the end of Bell Path stands the Bell Tower, with its many stories; the trusted monk still guarding its access. An eerie light envelopes the South-western shrine, located by an old graveyard immersed in wisteria flowers. This also serves as the city gym, where Morty, the gym leader, can be found by the entrance with his ace, Gengar. The Theatre is opened tonight: a bright warmth light welcomes the visitors by the street: a kimono girl dance is to be expected. A brightly illuminated pokemon center can be found just below, with a traditional wooden sign and a huge pokeball on the roof. The pokemon market, to the east of the Theatre, has a counter opened to the street, where the old lady sells medicines and souvenirs.

Hehe, my actual reference for the overall feeling is a little mix of Vinquette hall from Sword of Mana and Magus Castle from CT, but the true main inspiration comes from a movie: I recently rewatched Crimson Peak and Allerdale Hall is one of my dream movie sets!

I place and sometimes animate pixels. I really like top-down environments, tilesets and limited palettes.
A top-down view of a cathedral-like structure, with many columns. At the very center, a giant baldachin, firmly standing on twisted columns. The altarpiece is mounted in a rich baroque frame, surmounted by stained glass rose window. A tall, bat-headed vampire is guarding the altar, with bats flying around. A richly adorned pipe organ can be seen to the eastern gallery. Along the transept in front of the absis, two enclosed naves host a Pietà statue and a reliquiary. Many huge chandeliers hang above the central nave, and lots of candles are scattered around the cathedral. A few zombies and skeletons are marching towards the entrance, where a group of adventurers is preparing for battle, being surrounded. To the side of the absis altar, downward staircases lead to the crypt. A huge skeletal dragon guards a closed gate. Many huge chandeliers hang above the central nave, and lots of candles are scattered around the cathedral. Below the Cahedral, an underground Ossuary crypt, with walls made out of bones and skulls. An eerie light permeates the various locales, featuring grates, numerous walls of wax, monumental coffins and pillars. A Lich warlock is channeling dark magic by a sarcophagus. The Tower above houses a giant bell. A faraway city can be seen from the terrace, as a Griffin guards the bell beam. A secret room with four chandeliers features many tombs. There, a lady-like demon with bat wings floats above a marble coffin. A topdown pixel art remake of Ruin Valley, from Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen. Many ancient structures can be seen emerging from the steep cliffsides and lush tropical vegetation: temples, tall palaces and mysterious pathways and towers. A moltitude of pokemon and trainers can be seen around. To the east, the ocean with tall waves and a jagged coastline. Water and fossil pokemon live there. At the center of the valley, the legendary pokemon trainer Red is entering the Dotted Hole ruins. Peculiar rock formation resembling regi pokemon are scattered throughout the environment. A top down, aerial view of a city and its outskirts by a swampy river. The streets are filled with people, and the architecture has a distinctive early twentieth century aesthetic, with rich bent iron structures. 1. FREE SPRITE SIZE. Ideally, but not necessarily, from 64x48px up is perfect. 2. FREE PALETTE, but it should also contain the colours of the Palestinian flag below! 3. You can do anything from boats to ships, rafts and even airships, spaceships and, why not, sea animals and mythological creatures! The view is top-down (classic Zelda or Pokémon style), with the ship’s prow (or sprite’s direction!) facing East. It can be slightly tilted of course, but we all sail towards East. Light source is the rising sun, so top-right of the screen! 4. You can put everything aboard, from food to toys, books, characters, even yourself. NO violence, NO weapons! 5. No deadlines! As Italy goes on strike, we all stand with Sumud, with humanity, against the g3nocide and corrupt politicians. Together we sail. I know for sure that some heroes definitely like One Piece.

Had a bit of a headache with the pose of this one! The actual hard part was fitting both the long tail and the wings in the overall square composition. It's a bit of an unnatural pose overall, but I'm pretty happy with the challenge! The very first sketch is this one, with wings open
