This was my take on it without blatantly trying to rip off GNER as well as nodding to BR blue and grey and IC executive.
For slower/ local/ regional services, the same base is followed, except there's no white window band and the cheat line doesn't have an angled end - both to differentiate it from (faster) inter-city services.

Firstly, the Inter-City version.
Nodding to BR's blue and grey livery, the base is dark blue with a white window band. The ends of which are angled (and handed) to reflect the central bar of the Rail Symbol as well as to emphasise speed.
Accenting this is a flame red cheat line similarly angled.

This just takes the biscuit. In a week when Farage called for all permanent residents to be stripped of their status and dual nationals forced to choose, or while Trump directs ICE to kidnap people off the streets, it’s ID cards that re “the most illiberal thing” a govt can do.

The notion that ID cards are the most illiberal thing the state can do after Farage suggested stripping lawful residents of their status, is unserious.
