Putin pioneered this. No opposition is legitimate. Regular, decent, “ordinary” people cannot possibly be against us because only we represent “the real people.”

I'd love to see a reporter ask rank-and-file ICE agents if they understand that the administration is clearly hoping one of them gets killed out there.

Trump told reporters an operation to invade Colombia sounds good to him. Within the last 24 hours Colombia has heightened their security and moved infantry and armour to the Venezuela border. Cuba has also vowed to fight the US if threatened, has the capability to strike Mar-A-Lago if necessary.

Based on how Trump does things this seems like the most likely outcome. With massive caveat that Miller et al try to expand their CECOT/concentration camp network in Venezuela. As ever anyone who doesn’t aggressively try to stop them (Jeffries/Schumer/Wasserman-Schultz etc) is responsible.
This is also the outcome many in Venezuela fear most: they capture Maduro, wash their hands of any real regime-change plan, and unfurl a “Mission Accomplished” banner. Meanwhile, the same players keep running Venezuela, nothing materially changes, and conditions on the ground could actually worsen
