Same. My feed has been people being mad about this discourse that I’m now discovering is primarily this one dude.

Are we maybe just giving this one dumb dude too much attention?

(I also think this is the major failing of the “your feelings are valid” rhetorical movement. Acknowledging that you as a human are allowed to have feelings somehow got interpreted to mean that your feelings are unchangeable, always useful, and equivalent to structural analysis.)

Of course, people do this for bad reasons all the time, including when they are often forced to (without any moral justification) by society at large. But I’m tired of people classifying any effort to act contrary to your feelings as an act of neurodivergent/cultural self-harm.
