A couple of our recent outages/slowdowns are related to sites hammering Scryfall's API through rate limiting. Be a good steward of the free data endpoint and don't do this.
Insert 50 – 100 milliseconds of delay between the requests (i.e., 10 requests per second on average).

Got there on the 4th and final try today. Didn't want to lose more than $100. Pool was not very good but I had low enough of a curve I could go under. Enough interaction to keep things out of the way and a descent draw engine.
