If a nonautistic person experienced the same intensity as an autistic person does when their needs aren't met, they would likely have the exact same, or very similar reaction as autistic people.

And if everyone else knew what the autistic brain did, there would be no confusion regarding the reaction.

It would be perfectly clear and understandable.

This is not pathological behavior.

Or for going all out Aussie obscure: Siam Sunset, Welcome to Woop Woop, or You Can't Stop the Murders.

But no Aus film collection is complete without The Castle.

(Though the best depiction of real country Oz I have ever seen is Road to Nhill. Alas not a musical).

13/ There's no obligation on the part of Facebook or Google to feed antisemitism or Nazism to consumers or to afford Nazi propaganda published by The Noticer the same status as news agencies.

Agree. Though his dad's campaign against Sir John Monash, while Monash was involved in one of the first successful combined arms maneuvers of WWI is also quite reprehensible too. Keatings removal of limits of ownership of media companies was, in retrospect, not so great.

Pine gap is the problem in Aus with 5 eyes. Have noticed a marked up-tick in pol talk abt the dismissal atm. (Gough Whitlam was dismissed in dodgy circumstances in '70s the day before a speech on US at Pine Gap). Pretty solid pissed off vibe in aus atm about that, which is ... interesting.

if this isn’t nice, what is?

i think it’s lovely.

Even if you think, like I do, that AI has a lot of cool potential uses, that’s a very understandable reason why a lot of people get angry whenever it’s brought up right now.

We can’t fact-check our way out of this crisis. Disordered discourse isn’t just about false claims - it reshapes power, identity, and how people engage with reality itself. There’s no single fix, but one crucial pillar of the response is education.

In Finland, media education has been part of schools since the 1950s and is woven into the curriculum. Students learn about propaganda, misleading statistics, and even create their own media messages to understand how narratives shape perception.
