The dysfunctional metrolinx/CTS relationship …. It sure reminds me of other borderline hostile client/vendor relationships I have witnessed 😭

This was yesterday (2/2) at Gerrard and Bay, just south of college park. Bike lane looks to have been previously plowed (or at least an attempt was made), but since the corners at intersections and driveways are completely buried under a mountain of snow, they are impassable.

"GO Transit is recommending commuters travelling into Union Station Monday morning use TTC routes instead. Subway service downtown has its own disruptions though, with the TTC reporting at 10:30 a.m. that Line 1 has no service between St. Andrew and Spadina stations, due to an injury on the tracks."

Off the rails: The inside story of how the Eglinton Crosstown LRT went from transit dream to cautionary tale
Over the past decade and a half, the Crosstown has cast a shadow on a swath of Toronto and becoming, to many, a symbol of the city’s inability to fulfil its potential.

Objectively good news indeed @ttcriders.bsky.social !

But the City also committed to installing the bike lanes on Eglinton once the LRT opened (after postponing the work back in the fall).

No more delays. This spring Toronto needs to complete Eglinton.

Objectively good news! But we need:

We need a public inquiry to make sure future transit projects don’t face the same issues.

Assurances from Metrolinx and Crosslinx that it won’t have the same problems as Line 6.

Signal priority ASAP.

We need it to work.
