I've been hard at work throwing my latest game into a proper layout. At the moment, it's sitting around 300 A5 pages (THE CHONKINEST BOI I'VE EVER WRITTEN), and I've still got some things to add.

I've also landed on a name finally, Unsung Sagas! I'm hoping to have something to show in the next week

Does anyone here have any experience or examples of such a thing, and what folks create with it? To take something very distinct and release it into the public, for them to shape it, write about it, etc, virtually with impunity?

Being as this is a book to be released fully as a CC title, that means these creatures and lore entries can be used, remixed, and all that stuff. 2/3

Don't let it scare you off mate. Keep at it week after week, and you'll start seeing all the people you're helping out more and more. You're more than welcome to use my promo posts (when I make them) if you keep up that good work

The game will be released under CC BY 4.0, with a free, artless version available, a gmbinder.com document so you can just copy that whole thing with the style template, and make and sell your own things with it completely royalty free (from me, anyway).

My self promo is this:
I set out a decade ago to make the better version of a fantasy game that I want. It's taken many shapes and lots of inspirations over that time, but its finally taken the final shape. It's a 5e clone that does more with less. One roll resolution, freeform characters, 7/9

Due to the overwhelming amount of everything I have going on in both my personal and professional life (not my day job, thankfully), I haven't been able to funnel funds into this. I've been busting chops to try completing my latest project and it's nearly there. 6/9

I'm just waiting for that to be finalized, and then I'm going to finish filing an LLC that aims to help provide resources as a publisher for indies. This will I include art drives for free high quality stock pieces, community guides on how to make and sell your games, and of course, the zine. 5/9

Careful what you sign, folks!

I'm settling on the terms that I get my IPs back and lift the non-compete. But. I can't disclose who I was partnering with.

I've been fighting that for a while now, and i put it aside because helping indies is more important. 4/9

I started up a publishing brand with someone, they filed as the only member of management and hired me as an employee, and in all the excitement I missed that detail as well as a non-compete and NDA form. Basically, I signed away my IPs at the time and had to operate under a pen name 3/9

Between more than a handful of personal problems, I've also been trying to startup a #zine showcasing #indiettrpgs. It's sort of stalled out at the moment, but I haven't given it up yet. I've also had a professional legal battle for years that I'm settling on to help make the zine a reality 2/9

But the style template you use makes it so much more efficient. You don't have to select header 1 every time, just start the line out as

# Chapter X: Stuff

And bam, it's done. Automatically a chapter heading.

Print, save as PDF, and you're golden.

It may just be because I'm on mobile
