Celebrated by falling off the step-ladder in the garage. 10/10 old man day.
Please spare a thought for my husband @xoffsetx.bsky.social, who after 44 years of perfect eyesight, has just been told by our optometrist that he officially needs reading glasses #RIP

Google Maps helpfully avoiding a closure on Westmorland by offering a 2hr detour through the US. Very reasonable recommendation.

Just paid $2200 for winter tires. Just tires, no rims. Doing my part to prop up the economy... 💸💸💸

A few of Ian’s neighborhood friends have had their phones taken away, so with no way to communicate they will just randomly show up at our front door asking him to go biking. Time travelling back to the 90s.

So we are rescinding the DST to appease Trump? Not sure this lines up to why Carney was elected. At least Trump is super famous for always sticking to his word and never moving the goalposts once he gets what he asks for.

I worked backstage at a Strokes show circa 2003 and got to hear them through the wall as they ran through some new songs in a rehearsal space they had setup. Julian said “hi” on his way past when they were done.
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

Travelling for work and getting takeout from the best Thai place. Forgot if it was the green or red curry that was so good and didn’t want to risk it so.. two curries it is (it was the red)

This is shameful. Do better, Canada.
Family of 4 jailed in U.S. for weeks after Canadian border guards turned them away

I saw Gob for the first time in probably ‘96 or ‘97 and now almost 30 years later I’ll see them again with my kids.. life is wild.
Full line up. The addition of Lotus is fun. Plus Gob for those asking for a bit of a heavier vibe.

My favourite add-ons to counter-tariffs:

- Suspend US copyright recognition
- 2hrs of each day all electricity exports are turned off (randomized for fun)
- 25% levy to all oil exports
- Cancel all US contracts with Provincial and Federal governments. Refuse to pay or even recognize any penalties.

We all know this is just a temporary reprieve and he’s gonna be back with round 2 of demands, right? Need to punch the bully in the nose if you want him to truly fuck off. Hope all of the unity and the momentum on changes and ideas continues to move forward.

Should pull a reverse uno and impose new tariffs on US starting at midnight.

In all seriousness, I know the benefit of avoiding the tariffs but I really don’t like us giving them any of the things they’ve asked for. Instead of giving the bully our lunch money we just split our sandwich instead.

Can we all agree that the boycott should include Teams and Outlook?

While I wholeheartedly agree there needs to be something done with NB Power, I fail to see how privatization is a viable or desirable solution. What puts private ownership in a better position to be profitable than now?

Our new dishwasher needs a phone app to set a delay start. What fresh hell is this? Spent an hour trying to figure out how to avoid having to set it on my phone every night and still don’t have a solid answer. Meanwhile the old dishwasher you just… pushed a button. #enshittification

Maybe I’m in the minority, but I’m much more annoyed by the plastic straw ban than the carbon tax.

We got our annual settlement power bill today and I thought I would share for anyone who may be on the fence about getting mini-split heat pumps in Canada. We heated exclusively with electric baseboards until late Dec-2023 when we installed three mini-split heat pumps - one on each floor.
