Typical straight white USian dude (sports, craft beers, outdoorsy stuff, history podcasts, etc.) who refuses to pretend I don't have it good. Philly fan. Militantly pro-democracy shitlib. Free trader. YIMBY AF. Trying to help save my country from itself.
It's a Trump +22 district. Even in a low turnout special election losing it is an epochal disaster for the GOP, because it means that even in a higher turnout midterm lots of districts that were Trump +11 or +12 are likely to flip and they're going to not just lose the majority but get wiped out.

Sirianni is so bad at his job he's dragging down offenses he doesn't even coach. /s

I can't wait for the next Democratic president to take a wrecking ball to this eyesore, and I hope Trump is still alive and cognizant enough to know it's happening.

When you post on the internet, people will engage with your posts. Sometimes they may even disagree with them or say something that adds context.

This is how it's supposed to work, and if you dislike it you can always not post.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Which is different from what you are, how?

I've lived in three different countries and visited 42 others, and I have friends and relatives who live all over the world, including every large European country, so I have a bit of experience with this.

Perhaps it has some use cases, though that particular one seems like it could be handled with inventory management software without blockchain.

It's totally useless in my field.

Shameless hypocrisy is the coin of the realm in Trumpistan.

I don't think either extreme is accurate, but I do think we're dealing with excess wealth concentration.
November 30, 2025 at 4:11 PM
I'm not saying living in Europe isn't better. That's a separate debate on which reasonable people disagree.

I'm saying you can't develop a sense of what it's like to live in a country by visiting it on vacation. The two are fundamentally different experiences with only very partial overlap.
November 30, 2025 at 4:08 PM
Yeah you're just wrong, sorry.

Commercially available AI has some legitimate use cases. There are ways it's streamlined my workflow as an analyst, even if it is wildly overhyped.

Crypto and block chain, on the other hand, are totally useless.

Perhaps investors were wrong about its potential.

Who does Screamin' A think the constituency waiting to vote for him is?
November 30, 2025 at 1:46 PM
If someone thinks vacationing in a place and living there are the same experience they're making a fundamental analytical error from the start.

When the dam breaks (and cracks are appearing, like this one) I think we will be shocked by how quickly the whole thing collapses.
November 30, 2025 at 1:36 PM
This isn't true, though.

*Inequality* increases because benefits disproportionately accrue to those who control means and systems, but in absolute terms everybody's standard of living grows. A working class wage laborer today is much richer than a medieval peasant was.

Edison may have been an unethical businessman but he was also a real inventor, and a more accomplished one than Tesla.

History is complicated, yo.

For once I agree with Elon. He should be stripped of American citizenship.
November 30, 2025 at 1:06 PM
A majority of us are just trying to survive.

I've protested and worked for opposition candidates, but not everyone has the free time or resources to do those things.
November 30, 2025 at 1:03 PM
That's not going to happen because these two issues are in fact completely unrelated and it's idiotic to connect them.
November 30, 2025 at 12:18 AM
Counterpoint: Trump supporters deserve nothing but the purest and most withering contempt.
November 30, 2025 at 12:12 AM
Great. Invalidate all of Trump's pardons of his cronies and parasitic family members and then prosecute the hell out of them.

As an embarrassed Cornell grad their next request for a donation from me will be met with a forceful "fuck off".
