If you begin Star Trek: Voyager episode Spirit Folk at exactly 11:49:35 on New Year's Eve, Ensign Harry Kim will kiss a cow as the clock strikes midnight. Join in a very dumb annual tradition and start 2026 off on the right hoof.

#TaxSky #TaxBS ChatGPT told a client that converting to an s-corp is a great strategy for reducing income-based student loan repayment, because s-corp distributions aren't included in income for purposes of calculating AGI.

It completely overlooked flow-through taxation. 🤦‍♂️

What a 21st century, late-stage capitalism problem.

My smart robot vacuum is being turned into a more regular vacuum.

I've always been a bit jealous of women's large clothing departments vs men's smaller ones.

Today it was a whole store! "Just Cozy." Everything soft. Fleece-lined leggings in endless patterns, big fluffy socks, blankets, and scarves.

So I bought a throw blanket wrap thing. It's so soft!

This is the most flattering reference to my neurotic inbox management I've ever received. Thanks Superhuman.

So THIS is my origin sorry for liking Christmas movies.
#StarTrek Voyager, S5E23: The writers are tired of writing science fiction stories in their TV show about a spaceship. This is a Hallmark movie about Janeway's ancestor giving up her dream to be an astronaut so she could marry a small town shopkeeper who taught her the true meaning of Christmas

If you have a water dish you keep outside, and then the leaves fall, and you're too lazy to do anything about it for an extended period, did you just make your dog tea?

What running a lifestyle tax practice looks like. 😂

All the messages are basically on the Taxpros Discord, which I hang out in pretty much daily. But it seems to more heavily favor voice, which is playing/raiding with World of Warcraft.

I like how the top artists are in large part driven by repeatedly listening to one song...

Child co-opted my #3 top track spot.

'Tis the season for "it's too late now" and "you need to talk to an attorney."

My client base is small, so it's not a huge number, but noping out of several clients' after-the-fact situations is unusual.

Remember, it's better to have a physical than an autopsy. Talk to us first!

ST: VOY S3, E29 "11:59 (1999)"

The absolutely ludicrous offer on an old man's real estate is "20% above market" by the greedy corporate interest.

Seems funny that was an exaggeration back then, compared to what prices have actually done since.

Gotta love the days were you don't do any project work and spend the whole day in your inbox and messaging.

And not like, Discord. Not the fun kind of messaging.

'Tis the season to be surprised by clients' new business activities, multi-state subjectivity, and income swings.

I keep having dreams I take on jobs as a helping hand for farms, grooming, etc.

And then that reminds me I used to have a different job doing similar work, that I apparently stopped showing up and forgot about!

Which makes me feel guilty I can't remember the previous job. C'mon brain...

Finally finished Gideon the Ninth and I have mixed feelings.

The ending was captivating enough I'm curious where the story goes. But the whole of the book wasn't enough to get me committed.

Does anyone else get a micro-dose of guilt when you get up to do something, and your dog (particularly if they're elderly), gets up to follow, and you think "No, no! I'm coming right back! Rest your little head!"

Employer's don't have to provide any supplemental OT or tip reporting for 2025. This is going to make claiming the OT deduction interesting. Best we may have to go on in some cases will be their final pay stub.

Ok I know there's only been one group so far but... bedazzled scream masks?!

They win.
I'm going to "one more piece won't hurt" this bowl of candy into oblivion.

I opened the bags too soon.
