Cool. Don't hesitate - i'm the weirdo who has 40ish years of PC and Mac history at hand. post 1990 or so there are still a lot of connectors but remarkably few types and formats to worry about, given what you'd imagine.

I've just got in some tapo cams to play with this week. i haven't thrown any monitoring on whether they're secure or not, but I did get the basic functions wired in to my NVR without grief
