Day 9: Tactics, and it’s not particularly close. I love my turn based combat, I love XII’s puzzle approach to gambits, I even love the action approach of XVI.
But give me a tactical combat system and I am in, I’m an absolute mark for it.

Man I dunno on this one. From the death in 7, to the assault on Alexandria in 9, to 16’s….everything, picking just one cutscene is kinda impossible for me. Skipping this one, deal with it.

Day 7: I’m a bit of a sucker for V. I think Tactics is a better system, I think XI is a really cool application of it as well (in concept, I have qualms with its execution). But something about V hits just right for me.

Day 4: This is Ramza from Final Fantasy Tactics and it’s not particularly close. His story of naivety to complete disillusionment to becoming the unknown hero, in addition to having a much more understated kit compared to other unique characters, is very cool.

Day 3: Man this one is a struggle for me but I’d probably say FF2, the game notorious for teaching you to punch your own party members to get stronger.

Day 2: Favorites are always rough for me (Neurospicy brain goes HRNGGGG FAVORITE FOR WHAT REASON). Growing up it was 7, because that was my first. As an adult, I’d probably vacillate between Tactics and 9, though I also love 5, 14, and 12.

Day 1: Final Fantasy 7 was the first I played way back in them 90s. It was also one of the first console RPGs I ever played, and the first “modern” one. To this day I’ve never bothered to beat the emerald or ruby weapons.
