Because we Are all exhausted & we can't show up for every single fight, but i feel like we should be able to be a shelter for each other, even while keeping in mind how tired we all are. I dunno, I'm mostly thinking out loud about helping & needing, but also protecting ourselves & each other's peace

Intersctional, multi-front coalitions also require displaying solidarity in good faith w/ the other members of your coalition. Especially the most vulnerable. We gotta support each other, hold each other up, literally & figuratively, when we can, even if that just means mutually exhausted leaning-on

The people that vote based on their shifting values, beliefs, and motivations are not necessarily the people they elect via those votes. The people are reachable, organize-able or already organizing, and that is what can be joined and supported.

(Give DC statehood, a voting member of congress, and two senator, and shrink the "Federal District" down to Capitol Hill and the surrounding… well, Federal District. Would the borders be weird, and kind of porous? Yes. Would it be any weirder than what's going on, now? Absolutely not.)

My family lives and has lived in the Blackity-Blackest parts of DC, my entire life, and I've gotten to watch as areas where we knew almost every neighbour by name down three generations get turned into multi-million-dollar condos, and some of those same neighbours priced out of their family homes.

Okay? Who said it would? A win is a win & can be used to build momentum for other areas in which people need encouragement or a sense that fighting is worth something. An electoral win (or rather, several electoral wins) signals that beliefs, values, motivations are changing, & that can be leveraged
