POPCORN DISABILITIES is out
tomorrow and the wonderful Kelly McClure at @salon.com published an excerpt you can read now.

The cost of being the "exceptional" disabled person
"Popcorn Disabilities" reexamines "Edward Scissorhands" as a deeply coded disability narrative.

It's been quite a while since I lived in New York, but I can still bob and weave through a holiday mob in any store/parking lot/ sidewalk like I'm in the Matrix. Very handy skill.

Minutes out of watching Wicked in IMAX and am afraid to talk for fear of bursting into song. And yeah, I bought the damn bucket too. And what?

I have been putting a lot of work into a "do no harm" "lead with love" lifestyle but GODDAMN the Frankenstein's monster-level rage I feel towards this seepage of a man. I will dance a jig on the day. I swear I will.
When a reporter on Air Force One asked President Donald Trump a question about Epstein's recently revealed emails, Trump snapped at her, responding with the phrase “Quiet, piggy.”

I feel like Pluribus will be my go-to word now. “Can’t. Feeling too Pluribus.” “Why’s it so Pluribus in here?” “Everyone on Tinder looks like Pluribus.” “The new Austra is great. It sounds like Pluribus.”

"Death and poetry both demand vulnerability and the willingness to admit to it. They casually spill our secrets into the world and expose us as beings who spend our lives committing humiliating acts of feeling," @andizeisler.bsky.social writes.
Andrea Gibson faced death with love
"Come See Me In the Good Light" serves to remind us that a good death is a rare privilege

Honestly, it’s one of the least weird things you can be at the moment
People are just the right amount of horny for Frankenstein's monster
In the newest take on "Frankenstein," Jacob Elordi's gorgeously tragic creature is a gift to monstersexuals.

I spent last week reading and re reading and diving deep into the worlds Patti Smith recreated for her new memoir, Breqd of Angels: www.salon.com/2025/11/11/p...
Patti Smith opens the final door of her life story
In "Bread of Angels," Smith reflects tenderly on her life with her late husband, transforming grief into art.

Nothing will stop me from saying, "Oh my God, it's so cold," every time I go outside. I say it with a little smile, like I'm in a movie. I've lost a lot, but no one can take "main character" from me.

Did women ruin the workplace? No! Did I personally ruin my own weekend writing about the cynical fuckery that led to the New York Times asking that question? I sure did!

Huge thanks to @moiradonegan.bsky.social for lending her expertise and insight to my ranting
Women didn’t ruin the workplace. Capitalism did
When your debate centers on whether women should exist in public, you’ve already lost.

I finally repainted my front door a deeper shade of red today and will share the tools for a perfect execution: Hand sander, two small plates shaped like pumpkins, one chopstick, three of the cheapest paintbrushes, thing of paint (exact unit of volume), old bath towel. Paint simply everywhere.

Big hand claps to @carynrose.bsky.social for putting her expert Springsteen knowledge to work in this "Deliver Me from Nowhere" deep dive for @salon.com, breaking down what the film got right-ish, and what it failed to capture when it comes to the magic of "Nebraska."
"Deliver Me from Nowhere" aims for truth but loses the soul of Springsteen
Despite great performances, Scott Cooper’s biopic lacks the power and musical vitality that define the Boss himself.

New "Standing Room Only" premiering now is a special one! I interviewed E. Jean Carroll about her battles with Trump and the #MeToo movement.

I also get deep into how Mike Johnson is covering up the Epstein files, and what this tells us about MAGA.
