@nytpu imagine being able to have H and L inside the FPGA, and them having the same kind of timing advantage they have in TuringComplete (there's no way in hell they'd have that kind of timing advantage irl)

@nytpu does Zig still promise to stop doing that after 1.0 ?

hmm no, because then for every set of dependencies there'd have to exist exactly one docker image.

And IIRC you can get many different docker images with the same stuff inside them if you remove the build cache, right?

@jmaris at least when you're back home you'll be more at ease with the CO2 levels there

@jmaris lol, Polish analysts on military topics are like "self-respecting Western countries, when buying military aircraft, look at the lifecycle costs. And Poland is a state made of cardboard so it doesn't".

Although I guess most software we wait for on an everyday basis is either IO-bound or JavaScript, and JavaScript runtimes already do receive this kind of optimization...

So the question is how much performance could be gained by modifying the JavaScript code itself, and not much can be […]

I wonder if anyone's done sth like that already.

I've heard there are games that encourage modifying the client (haven and hearth), games where unintentional bugs were used as a magic system (Minecraft) and servers that encourage exploiting such bugs to create overpowered items (2b2t).

And […]

then let in more players who don't know about any of that, and let them discover and reverse engineer all the glitched items, artifacts, and eventually find the RCE

oh, and the server should send to the client full information about in-game entities, even if the client doesn't need it, to […]
