3/Andrew Miller for the SNP added “Councillor Fitzpatrick uses a lot of words to say ‘Do nothing’. He tells us its a few emails from a tiny cohort, but I would suggest speaking to the young people before you decide to bury your head in the sand.

2/She added: “I have been speaking to teachers to parents and pupils, most importantly and I firmly believe now is time for us to look again at their further use and identify any issues that we as an education authority can take to protect our young people.”

4. Seconding the amendment Councillor @drmoiras.bsky.social expressed welcome and surprise at Labour’s motion, suggesting the party had “caved-in”.

3. It called on the council to: “Provide a range of costings for a new East Calder High school, the cost of an extension to James Young High and Winchburgh High School, as well as the school transportation costs for each option.”

2. The SNP amendment put forward by Councillor Veronica Smith, called for: “officers [to] undertake a transparent study to determine the feasibility of a new East Calder High School that takes into account the future developments within East Calder and the surrounding communities to 2036.”
