An anecdote from the Battletech franchise made famous by Tex Talks Battletech has the Taurians, a periphery power, able to go toe-to-toe with the SLDF because the SLDF warship of choice was badly made. The Taurians lost, but only after extending a short victorious war into a 20 year campaign.

Reminded of a vid I watched recently of one of the right wing grifters "interviewing" "George Washington" via genAI. While they claimed their data set was only trained on writings of the man & his contemporaries, their homunculus talked like every other Federalist Society gooner I've heard.
