Is this post inaccurate Seth, or is it just that you think it won’t be utilized that way?
The agreement *literally* includes a massive powerline -- the intertie between BC and Alberta -- that would enable the addition of more renewable energy on both sides of the border.

C'mon, man.

She’s great no doubt, but I’m really getting tired of the I-V-VI-IV progression tbh.

I think I understand the gist, but I may be at my limitations to discuss things like this intelligently lol

I get the sentiment but regardless of ideology, an autocrat is not in the best interest of society. There has to be a balance of social & economic negotiation with good governance, otherwise the model collapses.

Change has to be made, but the rate needs to be controlled to avoid adverse reactions.

My hope for these things are that people speak up, and that the house and senate work how they are intended to. I’m sure you would agree that as of right now there is no other legitimate alternative party. That then is a whole other ball of wax.

These are some of the things I disagree with. Absolutely.

Whether or not he is successful in moving the needle or making really hard decisions when he knows it’s required, I still feel that remains to be seen so I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt for now.

To be clear there are things he’s done I definitely disagree with, but that’s true of any PM.

I think it’s easy for people like us to say that a PM should just make wholesale changes, stick it to O&G and pull the rug out from under them. The problem with that is, the Feds govern for everyone and there needs to be a transition period. We shouldn’t want for a left leaning autocrat either.

Your take is valid, although I would argue that the shifting of responsibility may not actually manifest in that way. Typically consultations happen after a project is stood up with a plan & financing at the ready.

Carney has been in office 9 months, I just want to see how things play out.

Perhaps the smartest #ClimateAction investment in cities is in public transit. While others make excuses, Paris is building a WHOLE NEW METRO NETWORK CONNECTING SUBURBS.

“…the Grand Paris Express, a new 200km system with 4 new lines & 68 new stations.”

Paris is getting a whole new Metro network. And it’s huge | CNN
The Grand Paris Express will add four lines, 68 stations and 200 kilometers of track to the French capital’s 120-year-old Metro system, providing vital suburban links – just not quite in time for the ...

Hey Andrew - I’m actually waiting to see the results of all of these things before passing judgment. This article basically sums up my thoughts.

No offence but I really hope I’m right and you’re wrong 😂

My gut tells me that with his past, what his wife & daughter are involved with, & the book that he wrote (which admittedly I have not read yet but know the gist), is that he’s got a few tricks up his sleeve & his approach will be different than how it’s been done in the past which has not worked.

Well, for sure there is no perfect PM, and I can’t speak to much of what you’ve written because I’m not up on the topic enough, but I’m still holding out hope that he will be good for Canada - including our climate goals. My wife works heavily in this space, and I happen to like our planet.

Doesn’t it depend on how the process works though? What comes first - private interest in the project and then BC/Indigenous consultation, or consultation first then shop for private interest? I assumed it’s always the former because what would they be consulted on without knowing the ins and outs?

It seems like he’s just moving the Feds out of the cross hairs. Without public subsidy, there is likely no business case here.

I hold out hope because if someone like Carney, with his amount of experience and education can’t get this right - we are hooped. Who else could be possibly better suited?
