Scrambled eggs should NOT contain milk.
Indeed. Decades of evidence to the contrary but they'll still maintain the fallacy that National can be trusted with the economy and government finances.

Apart from rubber stamping the most damaging thing the Atlas network could possibly have come up with that objectively harms our democracy, they've now shown themselves up to be the worst negotiators on the planet. and nobody is ever going to trust them again. Far out.

I've been around long enough to have seen some pretty ridiculous things in politics but nothing could have prepared me for this absolute clown show. 2/3 of the coalition parties now saying out loud they'll repeal regulatory standards act. WHY DID YOU AGREE TO IT IN THE FIRST PLACE YOU MORONS??

So there you go - the sales pitch for a home breadmaker you never asked for. Get delicious, fresh baked bread without leaving the house AND save heaps of money at the same time. It's a win-win.

So now I know I'm saving $127 a year by making bread at home. The machine cost $75 used, but you can buy new bread makers for as little as NZ$100. My payback on the capital outlay of the machine will be 215 days, or approximately 7 months. If I buy flour by the 5kg bag, that comes down to 200 days.

I'm doing a couple of loaves a week in the bread maker. Partly because they're a bit smaller (I prefer to do little more often for freshness) and partly because it's delicious and I now eat more bread. How does it stack up?

So, what was I spending on bread before? I tried to add it up.

I typically bought a loaf a week from the supermarket. Either Couplands white sliced bread or Nature Fresh depending on which shop I went to. I split these 50/50.

Also, I'd buy a load of fancy Vic's bakehouse French Batard occasionally

It only costs $1.37 for a medium sized white loaf when I take all the ingredients bought from my local Woolworths into account. This is not bulk purchasing or specials - just the normal price for these things in a supermarket.
