budget is the total amount each agency expects to spend in a year, Commitment is the dollar amount the city gives each agency to support their operations. I clarified in a bit more detail below the main post that when you directly compare commitments, IndyGo gets half of what IMPD gets.

This is a bit of an apples to oranges comparison: IndyGo’s budget is larger than the city’s commitment to IMPD. However, the city’s commitment to IndyGo is just $146M compared to the city’s $308M commitment to IMPD for BY 2026

French Lick had a local interurban that ran to West Baden just down the road (it was revived and still runs today) and the Monon (steam/diesel) ran from French Lick to Chicago via Monon, IN
