With the South Shore Line Monon Corridor now expected to open in Q1 of 2026, the railroad has released a draft schedule for the new line, indicating 34 new trains serving the corridor every weekday, 12 of which will run thru service to Millennium.

🚨IndyGo Riders: Route 8 is now back on regular route between Sherman Drive and Arlington Avenue following the completion of utility relocations. There are now no active detours on the route and all stops have reopened.

For most folks, the only stored data is a credit card for easily reloading your account. I maintain an account for when friends visit and ride with me, and you literally do not have to share any other information on the app besides a card number (as shown).

Here are Fare Enforcement Statistics from October and YTD, which are publicly available on our website and are updated every month. Note that no citations were issued and notifications represent a passenger asked to leave the bus for outright refusal to pay fare.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Indiana’s tract with the highest transit mode share (16.1%) is on the Near Eastside, along the future Blue Line corridor. This ranks at 34th in the United States, just below AZ and NC’s tracts with the highest transit mode share.

The other (last minute) big news at yesterday’s board meeting: IndyGo was successful in obtaining $14.7M to purchase 10 new hybrid buses from the FTA’s 5339 Grant Program. Details are still sparse, but when more information is available, I’ll post it here!

Yes, the ‘Double O’s’. Originally built by Gillig as Diesel buses in 2000, converted to electric by CCW and ZEPS between 2015-2016. Retired from service during COVID, Scrapped 2023.

The big news from
yesterday’s board meeting: IndyGo will be purchasing two Battery Electric Buses for use on fixed routes, one from Gillig, and one from New Flyer! This means cleaner air and quieter operation in your neighborhood and across the city!

Coming soon to the city’s Far Eastside: 55 new bus stops bringing upgraded amenities and/or full ADA accessibility. Routes 3, 21, and 87 will see the most wide ranging improvements.

Your 5 busiest IndyGo Routes for October 2025! The Red Line retakes the throne as the busiest route in the city, and the Route 30 is the most improved, posting a 40% YoY ridership increase. Routes 3 and 26 both continue to post significant improvements following realignments/ frequency improvements.
