There's a whole side of myself that I feel utterly disconnected from, that for 11.5 years was my center, that once was a source of joy and community and purpose

It's disorienting and painful

Last Halloween marks two years since Freya died and I miss her still so so so very much still I've come to accept her death and carry the grief a little more comfortably

I will just reiterate that I don't think it's necessarily bad to abort a fetus if you know it has a medical condition that makes life unbearable I honestly don't know what I'd do if I was a parent in that position

But I don't think we get to absolve ourselves and not call gene editing eugenics

These aren't inherently linked subjects and we can absolutely make rules around gene editing that wouldn't affect abortion access
