The Cars: 8.8/10
I finally completed my collection of Cars albums (from their initial run, at least) a few months ago and I’m finally beginning to listen through them now!
Their debut album is a classic of that era, one of the best debut albums in rock. It’ll be hard to top this.

Cochemea’s record is another great ancestry-influenced mix of jazz, afrobeat & Latin music and the new Antibalas is great too, a fully instrumental record due to their frontman going solo a few years back.

I was hoping to get a vinyl copy of the new Say She She album before heading out of town for a few days tomorrow and what great timing, my local store finally got it in today!
If you’re into disco, soul, or a psychedelic-flavoured mix of the two interests you, I can’t recommend this group enough!

new collaboration from Shawn Lee (Young Gun Silver Fox, “Bully” score) & Kelly Finnigan just dropped today and it’s already one of my favourite songs of 2025, the combination of the soft rock tune with Kelly’s voice is immaculate!

Picked up a couple more singles today; Jalen Ngonda’s first reggae/dub 45 & a new one from the late, great Vicky Tafoya who passed away just a couple weeks ago. She had a great voice & this single is my favourite of the three she put out on @penroserecords.bsky.social #vinylcommunity

Rudy Lewis, the lead singer of the Drifters from 1960 to 1964, passed away from a heroin overdose at just 27. He’s represented on the first half of side B on this compilation and sings lead on my favourite Drifters song “On Broadway”.
