(Old review - still stands)
Incredible and definitely one of a kind.
Think of it as a mix of Hunger Games, Dungeons & Dragons, and Hitchicker's Guide to the Galaxy.
Just absurd but thoroughly entertaining.
GODDAMNIT DONUT!!

There wasn't anything wrong with this, it was okay, it just wasn't the best I guess? I liked both Ryan and Fabian a lot though, just the story felt a bit flat.

I like Harry a lot but the perpetual "finding an extra ounce of strength and then some more and again a little bit more that I was saving for emergencies" was a lot. I kept on thinking the final battle was approaching but no, it was not final, there were another 5 battles 😐

Solid continuation from book 1, tbh - though Harry's hero complex gets on my nerves a smidge 😅

The big 114 of 2025!
11 paperbacks, 20 ebooks and a whopping 83 audiobooks.
Shoutout to Laura and Nat for letting me borrow their Libby access on top of my already MANY cards.
Special mentions - in no particular order and I'm sorry there is SO many. But hey - RANGE!

I honestly have very little clue on what happened in the second half of the book, it was mostly vibes, but I had a great time anyways! 😀

Another great book/novella in the series! Disabled FMC, chronic pain MMC, I love rep.
The additional world lore was also incredibly interesting!

I had FUN. There was a bit of an erasure of FMC's personality and a few things were definitely unoriginal but I still had FUN.

This was excellent, despite being just a novella, it was fully fleshed out - would absolutely read more of it.

The main theme of "dangerous" was heavily watered down, and served as a mass spoiler, tbh.

I’m sorry I just found out that in 1379, as in, 650 years ago, a baby girl was born in Yorkshire and named Diot Coke

history is a fucking joke lmao

Like most of Olivie Blake's books, this was a LOT. Some parts were convoluted, erratic and chaotic, which fit BEAUTIFULLY in the mania narrative.
Holy shit though, may this love NEVER find me.

I had a solid good time! I LOVED the gothic atmosphere of the campus, the mystery surrounding the island, the past experiments, the science and biology talk, the autopsies - it felt like an old episode of Xfiles and made for a fast and unpretentious read.

Buckle in because I have thoughts.
Mild spoilers ahead.
First off, you can't put dragons in a book and use them solely as sentient taxis. That is a sin.
Now a positive: Kaan! Kaan was great. We love Kaan. Kaan is the perfect MMC, even. Kaan was definitely THE highlight of the book.
