Definitely another think coming, UK. But this seems to be one that causes huge amounts of debate online - I remember one forum where it was one of a very small number of banned topics.

If you take a hot water bottle in a case you can put your undies, socks and gloves inside it and then they're lovely and warm when you come to put them on after swimming. And have a warm drink and sugary snack after getting dressed.

Nothing that anyone could plausibly claim was a modest family home when they bought it 30+ years ago and just happened to increase in value; these are all large houses that would always have been expensive.

(Maybe the real worry is not that people wouldn't do the basic, essential jobs, but that no-one would do the office work that pays better than really useful work but gives far less meaning/job satisfaction?)

They're also responsible for one of the best emails I've ever received, when the college office sent out a plea for sightings of Professor Biscuit while conveniently forgetting to mention that he was a cat...(I won't comment on how often a similar email might have gone out about human Professors...)
