Focusing on the community at large is so important and what white people should be doing. But as someone who didn’t grow up here I notice a real intimacy problem with white people (and Americans in general) in terms of helping the people they are *actually* close to.
White people need to be giving the black and brown people in their lives grace. As a Latino right now my boss at the flower shop has signs out, she’s worried about the community, she has whistles to give out etc. But if I am 1 minute late she’s does not give me grace. It’s so upsetting.

The fashion industry will maybe make themselves irrelevant in terms of dictating how people look. With the rise of dupe culture, and also the necessity of that for fat people to wear fashionable clothes the industry will simply serve as trendsetting the actual clothes? Not the people wearing them?
It’s funny because though fashion as an industry is roaring back to a time of rampant discrimination, society in general is more educated and also vocal. So I think ultimately what will happen is maybe a detachment from the fashion industry as a dictator for what everyday people wear and *are*.
