Was looking up an audiobook on Libby and found out it’s narrated by AI. I want everyone involved to understand this has entirely killed my enthusiasm for the book in every format. I will never read it.

@bestalbumbrackets.bsky.social okay music hive, I’ve a memory worm that needs help. This morning I heard a song on the in-store Jewel-Osco radio that I thought might be, “Set Adrift on Memory Bliss,” by PM Dawn, but listening now, it definitely wasn’t.

@f1tv.bsky.social stop promoting the observation tower at #cota as something fans can do. It’s been closed for Private Events every time I’ve gone over. It’s just for corporations.

George Russell could throw Max Verstappen off of the drivers parade truck and Joylon Palmer would call it a racing incident.

I cannot reply to the original post, so:

name an italian more worthy of an american holiday than columbus

Adriano Celentano

(I like the older b&w version better, but my YouTube-fu is failing.) Still a banger. “All Right!”

While waiting for the double-decker tour bus in Austin, Monica and I went into a Japanese grocery.

I wonder if @nanette.bsky.social’s library tasting group has had anything as off as these.

(The grape overpowers the peach, the filling is a little too sweet.)

@greggrosenthal.bsky.social One thing the See You Next Tuesday crew missed re: CIN anxiety:

Everyone assumes that December Joe might return in time for December. Isn’t it much more likely that September Joe makes the post surgery return?

Bengals can be #1 in something

You know, the Edge return was a surprise, and everyone loved it, but the AJ Lee return seems to be bringing actual joy to folk.

I was hoping until he said, “You let them chant the name AJ Lee,” then I KNEW

Great “At the Table,” discussion. But Robert is 💯regarding HOU. As of today, only the top 4 AFC teams deserve seats, because to get to the SB, one has to beat at LEAST two of them.

Bring on the MIN v TB discussion

Today is the long drive portion of retrieving the eldest from UConn. Being the best dad ever, I have given music control, so unfortunately I’m not making mini-best of 1989- progress. We started with one of her playlists, but transitioned into albums.

@robertmays.bsky.social remembering how NO dicked around Graham*, what are the chances CLE turns in the card as Hunter, CB?

*we drafted you as a TE, you play a significant # of snaps as TE, we’re going to tag you as a TE

There are two, (okay, there’s more, but Jazz and Classical, for example, are more niche,) glaring holes in our collective @bestalbumbrackets.bsky.social process. (1) Country (and Western 🙂,) and (2) Countries (that don’t speak English.)

Kudos to Nitzer Ebb for album cover design which makes it very clear as to which @bestalbumbrackets.bsky.social tournament it belongs.

Demerits to Janet Jackson for same.

Baking some cookies, so I fired up Spotify on the Roku.

The algorithm already knows 2000 is over, long live 1989!

This was at the top of the album suggestions for me.

I'm listening to ¡BANG! ¡BANG!... ESTAS LIQUIDADO by Patricio Rey y sus Redonditos de Ricota for @bestalbumbrackets.bsky.social upcoming 1989 nomination process - and three songs in I'm really enjoying it. In my notes I'm calling it new-wave rock, (The Cars, Honeymoon Suite.)

My wife had an epiphany, and since it explains things as well as anything else, I felt I had to share.

Let’s start by imagining that you have grown up being teased, even bullied, even though your family is rich, because frankly, you’re a dweeb.
