How hard do you think mass collaboration really is? Without gatekeeping and sabotage probably not hard at all.
Sometimes I feel like people use generative AI technology & generative artwork because doing so is easier than reaching out to an artist. An example where popularizing drawings, paintings, or animations might be necessary or save lives, is in protest media.
As fascism & surveillance continue to grow hand in hand, we benefit from rethinking how we protest. 1) From 2012, popular protest resource witness brought up the advances in nefarious surveillance. They mentioned how blurring technologies & changes in photojournalism would possibly save lives.

Should using pictures, video, & audio of real people in training data for generative technologies such as AI be criminalized? Looking at existing petitions & calls for regulation, this isn’t specifically included, but would seem to significantly help prevent many stated problems.

Impactful rights activists being targeted with harassment is an inescapable trend in the current climate & has been for some time. A reason I mention this on socials is because I know this will effect me & will happen if I’m as impactful as I know I can be.

My parents were regularly incompetent, highly apathetic, & envious. When I overheard my grandma say my baby sister was abused I stopped ignoring the abuse at age 16. Repeatedly standing up for her negatively affected my life far more than anything else because of how people did & didn't respond.
