Yup. This is a dismal holiday season for many in our industry. Not only are we losing a lot, but scammers are making a ton of money. I appreciate @bloomberg.com for writing about this.
NEW: AI “recipe slop” is overrunning search and social. Food creators say Google’s AI Overviews and glossy fake food pics are drowning out real, tested recipes — collapsing traffic and setting home cooks up for disaster, especially this Thanksgiving.

Annie Withey created Smartfood popcorn in the 1980s and then later that decade created Annie’s Mac and Cheese using the *same exact cheese powder*

NEW: The first two years of Massachusetts' millionaire tax has raised $3 billion more than expected.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

Today's the fall menu launch at Starbucks, but they're not bringing back apple drinks 😩🍎 Luckily, I have make-at-home versions for all of them on my blog! The Iced Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato is one of the most popular.

As reading declines, empathy seems to erode alongside it.
Only 16% of Americans read for leisure any day, down from 28% in 2004. Mainly driven by young people reading less. (US Census Bureau via CNN)

When it comes to reading a book during the year, the percentage has fallen from 61% in 1992 to 49%.
