Sure, that's my instantaneous impulse as well. But the reason we don't let cops immediately shoot clearly guilty people is the same reason this person should be immediately removed from their post & go through whatever termination process exists. In a union utopia it will probably involve a hearing.

I forgot the first rule of the internet: people will always focus on the worst possible interpretation.

This person probably deserves to lose their job. But if we're going to protect workers from abuse we have to protect all workers, even shitty people. If there's a process, they should follow it.

everybody in the back has access to food prep hardware of various heft & sharpness.

People are talking about 2 diff scenarios:

1) Current reality. Yes obviously this person should be immediately fired & frog marched out.

2) Union Utopia. Doesn't mean the worker gets to stay there hurling slurs.

I've missed the background drama here but there are options between "stay customer facing and use all the slurs you want" and "immediately fired and kicked to the curb" such as suspension with pay or restriction to work in the back. Lots of options for a manager to use while any process plays out.

This article is kind of confusing but does eventually get to the point. Even with rent "down" most people who want to rent an apartment are young & relatively poor, so they can't afford to pay much.

Large apartment blocks really aren't comparable to single family homes along many categories.
Apartment rents drop further, with vacancies at record high
A good supply of new multifamily units is coming online at a time of much weaker demand.

Apartment buildings are way, WAY more expensive to buy than even a pretty big single-family home.

Also corporations are building & operating apartment buildings. I'd wager the corporate vs mom & pop ownership on apartment buildings/complexes is even higher than 9%.

#BugsBunny & every #WarnerBros creation must be absolutely turnt at BOTH the concept of being "merged" into #Netflix AND kissing the ass of #Trump.

Every single character in the #LooneyTunes universe was created in express opposition to authority & conformity. #FightThePower

It's not simply a #NIMBY driven supply problem. The supply problem & broader economic issues make a feedback loop. Profit margins on building large expensive homes are higher than small affordable homes. There are "investors" driving prices up in bidding wars, too.

Yeah but how do they not know the answer? The #TeaParty was entirely animated by racist backlash against #Obama & they took over the #Republican Party (ending its run as the #GOP). #Trump came down the escalator to spew racist bile which morphed into #MAGA.

They're all racists now. That's "why."

The theory of the case I've heard (I think on @podsaveamerica.crooked.com ) is if a couple more #Republicans #resign it'll lock down remaining House Republicans, b/c no one will want to be "the one" who gives control to #Democrats. I'm thinking if 5 or 10 do it, though.. no one will get the blame.
