The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has gone from horrible to hell on earth. Over 60K people have been killed, mostly women & children.

The Netanyahu government must allow the UN-led aid distribution system to resume. Children are starving, and we are on the brink of a full-blown famine:

Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions - rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking steps to make sure students can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Let’s hope others follow suit.

To discuss MD father Kilmar Abrego Garcia's return

As someone who grew up in NJ, and an American, I am so proud of @corybooker.com for making a stand.

I would love to see my current representation in the Senate @vanhollen.senate.gov @alsobrooks.senate.gov do the same.

Here's our newest study: we reveal the molecular principles of neuronal excitation by glutamate, and how physiological temperatures influence this process.

If you’re dismayed by what’s going on right now, focus on 2026 and don’t lose focus.

Identify who your representatives are and be prepared to hold them to account.

Without significant change in 2026 all of the marches, phone calls and social media posts are moot.

The catastrophic impact of all of these cuts with so little ‘savings’ indicates that the so-called bloat in the government is vastly exaggerated.

We’re losing tremendous resources by cutting a fraction of what Elon Musk received in government handouts.

I am strongly against the ‘budget cuts’ and other ‘policy’ decisions that are being made - several seem to be illegal.

But having watched this circus since 2015, I’m convinced that the responsible parties aren’t graded on their performance as much as the volume of outrage generated.

So if the 15% indirect cost cap stands. Does this mean that researchers will have to pay the reminder of operating expenses directly from the award?

Or are there NIH policies or laws that forbid this?

Google AI summaries have introduced me to some great literature I’ve never seen before.

But that’s mostly because it’s unrelated to what I’m searching.

I made a feed for glutamate receptor ion channels.

It picks up anything with the tag #iGluRs and also AMPA and NMDA receptors. (Sorry KAR and delta fans, only three terms, forgive me)

You can pin the feed and/or like it.
