The hotel is located just above the Muji store, linked to it by escalators. Soft lighting and all the wood give it a warm feel.

You can choose many a la carte dishes anytime during the flight. Last order around 2h before landing. I chose the veg curry with rice and a fruit plate. Real proper Japanese curry and real proper slices of fruits! And you can just order your food and drinks via the IFE touchscreen! So convenient!

A few things to note. The cushioning I felt was a bit thin and that thick mattress topper in the overhead cupboard helps immensely. Also, you can get things dropped accidentally into this gap between the side panel and the wall.

....and the best thing are the in-built speakers within your headrest, so you can watch a film or sleep with music on without the bulk!

It looks some CX leased planes have Wifi (e.g. reg A7-BOA with Intelsat) and some don't (e.g. reg A7-BOD). A bit inconsitent there....

Ah, maybe that was why on my HKG-DOH leg, the CX plane (A7-BOA) had non-Starlink wifi and I only managed to get on it for a bit.

I tried not sleeping at all, but the long day ahead on arrival was tough. Yes, a few hours sleep is better than nothing. For me, the excitement of flying usually keeps me from falling asleep....😅

Likewise those short eastbound transatlantic overnighters from the East Coast to the UK. A couple of hours sleep at best.....

I slept straight after taking off from DOH and requested my pre ordered meal to be served around 2.5h before landing. It worked. Slept some 4hrs. My jetlag wasn't too bad! Only thing was that I just had to mentally convince myself that I was having butter chicken for breakfast 😂
