A long time ago, my friend Oliver and I made a graphic novel about Halloween. It was optioned by Spielberg’s company amazingly. I went to LA for the first time! Then they did nothing with it for 42 years. Still: fun. Now someone is making a musical theatre adaptation. FRIGHT NIGHT!!

This is a Pixar movie. The little moon (Sabrina Carpenter) comes in to work-shadow the veteran actual moon (Meryl Streep). Streep is grumpy about it for the film’s first thirty mins. But by the end they’re inseparable and when 2083 comes we cry. While also learning about the need to let someone go.

Shit I was meant to tell you that you can get the paperback of my novel with 25 percent off if you preorder. But it expires today. But, I don’t know, there’s still a bit of today left.

Last night a woman called Viv showed me this photo of a complete set of my books. I couldn’t decide whether I felt ‘wow I did all of that’ or ‘is that really it, my life’s work!?’ But I guess I’m not dead yet and it was a nice moment. Thank you Viv.

Hotel art. Disconcerting if you’ve got my surname. I wonder what the story is here.

A dangerous criminal versus someone really intent on stopping crime, you say? Well that IS a showdown. Absolutely tantalising!

Yeah, it doesn’t look quite right as cabs go, but this is no way to boost its confidence.

Finally, and thanks to @alexprestonpod.bsky.social, I am able to share this feature-length version of my YouTube nonsense show. Recorded during the Fringe. I look very hot throughout. As in, actual hot. Overwarm. Dehydrated. Enjoy!

What’s going on here? Are they two versions of the same publication? But if so why bother publishing both? But if NOT, how can two magazines be this close to identical?

That was the 2025 Edinburgh Fringe. I did forty or so performances, saw twenty-ish shows, was also involved in producing twenty. A generally buoyant, invigorating atmosphere this year. Thanks to everyone for letting me continue to bang on at you and amplify others’ banging on. ❤️

YouTube phenomenon (my words) Yes, How Can I Help returns with a LIVE episode today in Edinburgh. Weirdly it is sold out. If you’re coming please bring a question. If you can’t, submit queries here. Possible topics are below.

By WHOM. Should these people be allowed to stay in the country if they can’t speak the language?

Another great evening banging on about my book, this time in the giant Piccadilly Waterstones. In a social media first, the picture on the right is me and my mum (Margaret Watson).

Thanks to the people who - if I may use the phrase - packed the church last night. Here’s a picture of Alex and me looking like we’re in school expecting to be told off. Tonight: LONDON.

These days at some big stations, they keep the full schedule of cancelled trains up on the board, as a reminder of where you might have gone if things had worked out.

Nothing could make me less inclined to trust the ASA than their decision to turn back the clock to 2010 and revive this character and the cult of ‘simples’.

Last night I ‘chaired’ a book launch for one of my No More Jockeys colleagues and attended a further book launch for the other one. Soon, we will complete the triple launch and you could, if you wanted, be there: www.waterstones.com/events/mark-...

I’m sitting in front of many copies of this novel, a love story (sort of) for the Deliveroo age. Keep an eye out for ways you can buy, win, or steal copies of it over the next three weeks.
