ttrpg GM/player without portfolio. Likes games with Samurai, realizes they aren't champions of the working class. He/him.
Lythia (Shadow World) and Hârn, two places I know more about tectonically than Earth, the actually real planet I'm from!

"In this talk we will outline the many significant geological changes between the First and Third Age, and map the probable tectonic plates of Middle Earth...."

I doubt there has ever been a SecDef/SecWar even remotely qualified to be a First Sergeant.

Those sea boxes and the big circular production chart on top centre are give-aways!

My grandmother, a lady who grew up in eastern Europe and came to Canada after WWI, didn't really believe in turkeys.

It was goose for holiday feasts--sort of a forgotten bird in the North American diet these days.

Both of these capture what we do.

Player X can't make it? Character X is just sort of "in the background" or just off-screen.

Ch Y about to die without Ch X's healing magic/surgical nanobots? I (the GM) pilot Ch X for a moment and we save Ch Y's life. Then Ch X slips back off-screen.

Nash was my favourite Slash.

(Seriously, I think I wore through two cassettes of American Band-ages (and I had the vinyl as well)).

In Canada if you pay digitally they don’t round. No pennies on a debit/credit transaction anyway. (But I think we round up/down based on the cost for cash transactions).

There was a while, when most of the Canadian armoured vehicles were in West Germany in the 70s and 80s, that the British Army training in Suffield Alberta had more Armour in North America than the Canadians or Mexicans.

(Not Challenger 2s, though).

There was a time, a few years back, when finding four players seemed like a miracle and I was glad to have him available. And I won't lie, he was often the source of great merriment as well as GM frustration--and sometimes you have to take the crunchy with the smooth!

(It's an exaggeration for humour's sake, but not by much.)

For many years I included a close friend in games, although he was the worst at "playing along."

Game brief: you are all crime-solving teens in a van, debunking haunted sites!

His character: An octogenarian homeless man and convicted sex-offender.

Didn't invite him back after a hiatus. Best move.

When I joined the Army, back in the early 80s, we sang a lot. So I’ve sung my share…

…by the end of the 80’s it wasn’t cool anymore.

🎶 Lady Godiva through Coventry did ride,
To show all the villagers her….🎶
