Yes. Exactly. Progressives aren’t for Jeffries and Schumer. Voting for progressives hastens the demise of the current establishment. The party isn’t a monolith which you keep pointing out. We’re striving to amplify the parts that are good in order to win. Every step is progress - WE’RE PROGRESSIVES.

He’s all ‘electing progressives won’t change the internal balance of the party’ and then points at how panicked the establishment got when faced with a progressive. If voting for progressives didn’t fuck with Schumer and Jeffries, they’d be taking credit for Mamdani.

So you asked in order to be demoralizing or what? Do you not know why to keep trying if you can’t win instantly all at once?

You don’t know what moves until you push. You don’t know where it settles til it settles. Change slides the balance. The system is a hanging mobile not a stick of bricks.

Blanche says in one episode that they’d pry her 8% mortgage out of her cold dead hands. I had a ~3% mortgage when I saw the episode so I knew intellectually she was happy with 8% but oof.

I hate that the Golden Girls was talked about and treated like it was a show about old ladies when 3 of the 4 women were still working, active, ambitious. Men their age in media are the guys in Better Call Saul or something.

It never mattered. They were unlikely to get anything passed. Plus, whatever landed on the president’s desk would be vetoed. The plan at its most optimistic pinnacle was to give Trump the opportunity to murder the ACA with a veto in a big, smug moment.

He might protect some of the. But those others? My goodness, those women and brown folks did terrible things and the public must feel like there’s been justice. Tokens *always* get spent. They probably won’t go down for the crimes against humanity, though. It’ll be for wasting money.

They’re arguing that any order the president gives is by default legal. They understand that if someone who is not president issued the same order, it could be illegal. The actual argument is that the president’s action is always legal. That what doesn’t matter, only the who.

So yeah. Maybe don’t get that cheap-ass palm at the big box hardware store.
